After the recent reports about our journalistic activities at Etilaat Roz (in English, Daily Information) in the New York Times and the Guardian, we have been asked about ways our many friends around the world can support our work in furthering democracy and free speech in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, due to restrictions on the country’s banking system, we are unable to receive funds directly.
In order to facilitate fundraising, of which we are desperately in need, we have appointed Rohullah Yakobi as a representative of Etilaat Roz to coordinate a fundraising mechanism so that our friends around the world can make donations.
I and my team at Etilaat Roz are enormously grateful for the messages of support and offers of help we have received from around the world. With your support, we will continue to serve the people of Afghanistan.
